What Is EVO ICL?
EVO ICL, the Implantable Collamer Lens, is a vision correction procedure that places a thin, biocompatible lens inside the eye to correct nearsightedness and astigmatism. Unlike laser-based procedures, it does not reshape the cornea and can be removed or replaced if needed.
The lens is inserted through a small corneal opening and positioned between your iris and natural lens. This approach can treat:

How long does an EVO ICL lens last?
The EVO ICL is designed to remain in place for many years. Although the lens can stay in place indefinitely, it can also be removed or replaced if necessary — that flexibility is one of the procedure’s biggest advantages.
Will I feel the EVO ICL in my eye?
Most patients cannot feel the lens once it is in place, and it is not visible to others. Once healing is complete, life with EVO ICL feels remarkably normal.
How soon can I return to normal activities?
Many patients return to work, driving, and light exercise within just a couple of days. Plan to wait one week before working out or being in dusty or wet environments, and one month before watersports. Dr. Liu will share complete post-op instructions tailored to your recovery.

Can both eyes be treated on the same day?
Yes. In most cases, both eyes are treated during the same appointment, which makes for a more convenient recovery and gets you to clear vision faster.
Is EVO ICL FDA approved?
Yes. EVO ICL is FDA-approved for the correction of myopia, and myopia with astigmatism, in appropriate candidates. The lens has been used internationally for over a decade, with more than 3 million procedures performed worldwide.
Can EVO ICL be combined with other procedures?
In certain cases, EVO ICL can be paired with other treatments such as LASIK or PRK to fine-tune results. Dr. Liu will tell you honestly during your consultation whether a combination approach is appropriate for your eyes.
